PVRIS

A little Paramore-esk, powerful vocals and lyrics filled with emotion. The perfect way to describe PVRIS (pronounced Paris). A friend actually suggested this group to me a week or so ago. I have to say, after listening to one song they have became one of my new favorites. Check out the songs below to see why:

'You and I' starts out slow, but it builds quickly. As soon as the chorus hits, the drums and guitar turn up the volume. Pair that with Lyndsey's powerhouse voice and the killer lyrics and you have a hit!

'Smoke' is another track that blows me away. Lyrically it's solid. "Oh, you're killing me right now. I think it's time you burn me down.

Once again Lyndsey kills it vocally! The slight rasp mixed with her soulful rock sound make her voice stand out above the rest. This group is one to watch out for!

More to come on PVRIS after March 14th as they're coming to town and I can't miss the opportunity to hear them live! This group is more than worth a listen in my book!

Nothing But Thieves

They're indie, very alternative and not a bit pop. This group of five men has a sound that's definitely different than the rest. Their self-titled album "Nothing But Thieves" came out last year and it's worth a listen.

My personal favorite, 'If I Get High', showcases Conor Mason's beautiful voice. He hits some sexy falsetto notes that make you feel things. The best part...the band just released a live version to YouTube the other day and it is MAGICAL. Simply amazing. Check it out for yourself.

'Lover, Please Stay'. Another fantastic showcase of Conor Mason's voice. In addition to that, it really showcases this group's ability to write a lyrically sound track. In fact, every single song on this album was written by members of Nothing But Thieves.

Alright, I've shown you two more somber tracks. Time to show off the band's rock side. 'Trip Switch' has the drums, electric guitar, bass, keyboard and killer vocals. Everything that makes a sexy rock song. The hook is super catchy and we get another taste of Conor's falsetto, which I love! Also Joe Brown on the guitar is absolutely wonderful! This guy can really play!
